To prepare Nigerians especially those living in the border states with Niger Republic, President Bola Tinubu on Sunday met with governors of five border states in Nigeria. The President met with governors Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Mai Malam Buni (Yobe), Idris Nasir (Kebbi) and Dr Dikko Radda (Katsina).
The meeting, was part of the moves by the president to prepare Nigerians and seek the buy-in of all in his impending war againt the coup leaders in Niger Republic. You will recall that the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) had approved sancctions and the use of force to oust the coup leaders in the West Africn country.

Last week, Tinubu sent a letter to the Senate requesting authorisation for deployment of troops to Niger, a move which met with the disapproval of northern elites who worried about the consequences of such action on Nigeria.
The National Assembly also asked the President and ECOWAS to find a political solution to the political provblems in Niger.
