Presidential candidate of the Labour Party , Peter Obi has promised to bring members of the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB ) back into Nigeria and solve the Biafra agitations.
Obi also said he will decentralise power generation while instituting an appropriate tax regime for all classes of Nigerians.
The former governor of Anambra state was speaking during an interview at The Candidates town hall meeting for presidential candidates.
The Candidates which is hosted by journalist, Kadaria Ahmed, puts the spotlight on six presidential candidates on their plans and strategies for Nigeria.
Responding to question on his position on IPOB agitations, he said: ” There are agitations everywhere even in my house. But when people agitate, what you need to do is to bring them to the discussion table.
” When you install justice and fairness, everybody will have a sense of belonging and agitations will reduce,” he said.
Speaking on power , Obi said he will decentralise generation. ” Everyone who can generate one megawatts for his business should go and do so but under regulations.
“On tariffs, we are going to charge appropriately. The man who lives in Ikoyi that has like 10 freezers will be charged while the man with just one in Ajegunle will be subsidized,”Obi said.
