An explosion on Sunday threw residents of Jalingo, the capital of Taraba state into panic as people scuttle for safety, thinking it may be a bomb attack by terrorists.
Many of the residents of the Jalingo metropolis believed the incident was a bomb explosion after a loud noise was heard around 10pm on Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRP) in Taraba, Usman Abdullahi also confirmed the incident to journalists saying nobody was hurt in the incident.
“It was a blast. Last night, the anti-bomb was there. We are waiting for the result. No casualty, nobody sustained injury,” Police spokesperson said.
This is not the first explosion that would occur at the capital in 2022 as more than four had already happened which resulted in the deaths of at least six people and many more injured.
The state has also witnessed several armed attack on some communities while six soldiers were killed in May 2022 when they were attacked by gunmen in Tati Vilage, Takum local government.
