A former lawmaker who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019, Senator Shehu Sani, has warned that laid down rules should be followed in finding a replacement for the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
This followed reports of the resignation of the CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, on Monday.
Sani made the statement in a tweet posted to his verified Twitter page, @ShehuSani, on Monday.
He said that the replacement for the CJN should be done without jumping queues.

The ex-lawmaker wrote: “The replacement for the CJN should strictly follow the laid down rules. There should be no jumping the queue in order to find a person who will fit into the political, sectional, religious or ethnic peg of the ruling establishment.”
Infantng had reported that Justice Tanko Muhammad’s resignation was made public on Monday.
