The All Progressives Congress, APC has again postponed its special convention for the primary of the 2023 presidential election.
The postponement followed one week extension granted by the Independent National Electoral Commission to political parties for the submission of the list of candidates.
Sources close to the party said this is the ultimate plan to bring former president, Goodluck Jonathan as the party’s consensus candidate.
A court in Yenagoa yesterday cleared Jonathan to contest the presidential election.
Already, huge posters of Jonathan has surfaced I’m strategic areas of Abuja including Asokoro describing him as the Rainbow doe 2023.
The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, said in a terse statement issued at 12:58 am this Saturday morning.
The statement was titled: ‘APC special convention for presidential primary postponed.’
Morka said, “Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s extension of deadline for the submission of list of candidates by political parties, the All Progressives Congress hereby postpones its special convention for presidential primary from Sunday, 29 – Monday, 30 May, 2022 to Monday, 6 – Wednesday, 8 June, 2022.”
