Chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market Senator Ibikunle Amosun has declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential race.
This is instructive as this newspaper can exclusively report that the former governor of Ogun state is President Buhari’s trump card for the presidency.
According to insiders in the Amosun camp, Buhari has promised Amosun the APC presidential ticket.
” Amosun is Buhari’s right hand man, you will remember what he said during the campaign in Ogun state when he asked the people to vote for APC at presidential level and any other party of their choice at governorship.
” The two have been trading deals for many years and the APC nomination is one of the deals they are trading.
” You know I told you he will declare this Wednesday and he has done that, so you just wait and see for the consensus candidate,” the source told our reporter.
Meanwhile, Amosun said he will formally declare for the race on May 5 at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
