The terrorist attack on Kaduna airport has been confirmed by the Kaduna state government.
The state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the attack in a statement titled, ‘Troops Repel Bandits at Kaduna Airport’, said troops had successfully repelled the terrorists.
Aruwan said that airport operations resumed with scheduled flights after the incident, noting, however, that the bandits “unfortunately shot and killed a staff” during the incident.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) had periodically conducted series of scenario attack playout at various airports in the event of a terror attack on the airports, with very few believing this could one day be a reality.
“We do all these exercises including rappelling but we never imagined this could one day happen in this country. This is a new low for security and what has happened today is a clear insight that we are not doing some things right,” a NAF officer, who had been part of such exercise told INFACTNG.
However, Aruwan said, “Security forces have reported that an attack by armed bandits was repelled in the vicinity of the Kaduna International Airport.
“Troops stationed within and around the airport responded and repelled the attackers.”
