Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sacked 20 members of the Cross River Assembly who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) last year.
The state legislators defeated with the governor, Prof. Shade to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo held that the lawmakers should vacate their seats since they had abandoned the party which brought them to power.
The judgement followed a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021 filed by the PDP.
The court also ordered the PDP to submit names of it’s candidates who would replace the sacked legislators.
