After a period of dilly-dally, President Muhammadu Buhari today left for the United Kingdom on medical tourism.
Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina made the announcement on his Facebook page on Sunday.

President Buhari was earlier scheduled to leave for the UK from the African Union meeting in Kenya but in a surprise twist, returned to Nigeria.
Buhari had during his election campaign promised to fix Nigeria’s comatose health system which now depends on donor funding for survival.

However, the president had not used the country’s hospital since he became president seven years ago preferring the cosy UK hospitals at taxpayers expense.
The president is also leaving the country at a time of excruciating fuel crisis which has crippled nearly all economic sector accompanied by pain and chaos at the few petrol stations still dispensing across the country.
