Residents of Byazhin-Across, a community in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja, are set for a mass walk in respect to its abandoned road project which is due for completion.
The mass walk which is scheduled to take place on January 29, 2022 by 7am will kick off from Pezee River to Ijayapi Valley Bridge, near Cedar College. It would be recalled that a group of women known as “Able Women” in 2019 had taken up the repair of an access road to their community abandoned by the government.
The access road leading to the community has been in a bad state, causing accidents for the residents.

However, it was gathered that the women were asked to stop work few days before Christmas last year with the hope to be called back first week of January, 2022.
Our correspondent gathered that as at the time of filing this report, the women are yet to resume the road project and the state of the project is a threat to the health of the residents.
In awake of this, various hashtags by the community have been trending via social media to call on government and other stakeholders to intervene.
