OGSIEC Boss Commends NSCDC as Command Promises Better Collaboration

The Chairman, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, has commended the efforts of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, for its role in the just concluded 2021 local government elections in the State.

 
Osibodu, who led the management team of the Commission on a visit to the NSCDC headquarters in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, described men of the Corps as crop of professionals who discharge their duties before, during and after the elections with diligence and dedication. 

He lauded the NSCDC for a job well done and advised the Command to maintain its integrity and continue to synergise with other security agencies in the State to further protect lives and property of the people.


“We are here to say thank you, not just for the roles played during the elections, but also for the various trainings and interactions with us as a Commission. All through the exercise, no member of the Corps, including the plain clothes and uniformed officers were found wanting”, OGSIEC boss said.


Responding, the Commandant of the Corps, Commander Kolawole Taiwo, appreciated OGSIEC team for recognising the hard work of the officers of the Command, disclosing that they were delighted to perform their civic responsibility by defending the defenseless.


He revealed that the Command would not relent in the discharge of its core mandate of securing National Assets of the country, Disaster Management, exposing citizens to security tips, adding that the Corp was civil in its operation.
He pledged the continued support and cooperation of the Corps to the Commission, assuring to always be partners in the progress and development of the State.
