The Ekiti South Senatorial District leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has directed people of the South Senatorial District to boycott any election contrary to the resolution to present a candidate from the zone as governorship candidate.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti Governorship Election has been scheduled to hold on June 18, 2022.
In a communiqué at the end of its meeting at Ikere-Ekiti, headquarters of the District on Thursday, the party leaders, “ordered delegates from the district to remain firm and refrain from honouring anybody that is not from the District with their votes.”

In the communiqué signed by a former Acting Governor, Hon Tunji Odeyemi; Dr Kunle Afolayan; and Chief Titilayo Oguntuase, the group stated, “The leaders met and resolved, among others, that people and delegates from the zone should not honour anybody outside the senatorial district with their votes.
“Failure of the PDP to pick its governorship candidate from the south senatorial district, our people should boycott any election.
“The Southern Senatorial District has the highest number of automatic delegates, the district has the highest number of local governments, the district has over 350,000 voters. We have directed members to boycott any election contrary to the resolution of the stakeholders and leaders of the district,” they stated.
