Following sustained military onslaughts against terrorist groups and bandits in Kaduna state, at least 11 hostages have escaped from their captors, Kaduna state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan has said.
The hostages are said to have escaped from bandits’ camps at the outskirts of Sabon Birni in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to the Commissioner, ongoing security operations dislodged many of the bandits’ camps, leaving them in disarray and enabling the escape of the hostages being held there.
He gave the names of escapees alongside their children with ages between seven and 10 years as Fatima Sani, Aisha Falalu, Amina Aliyu, Hadizatu Sani, Bashar Falalu.
Others said to be travelers from Maiduguri to Ilorin, but abducted along the Kaduna-Zaria road, are Fatima Umar, Zara Umar and her infant, Hadiza Madu Sharif, Hauwa Ali, Zara Madu Sharif and Maryam Madu.
