A brave personnel of the Nigerian Navy who was kidnapped on February 21, 2021 while on his way to Kebbi state on leave has regained his freedom.
The personnel, identified as AK Bala regained his freedom when he disarmed one of his abductors, used his weapon to kill to of them and escaped.
According to the former Director, Army Public Relations ( DAPR), Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman ( rtd), the personnel had been with the kidnappers for one month and used the time to survey the environment and movements of the gang before he acted.
” He successfully disarmed one of the kidnappers, then used his weapon to kill two of them and escaped.
“He had been in captivity for a Month plus and had studied their movement, identified their weakness and took advantage when the opportunity presented itself. It’s truly a gallant move, well done Sailor,” Usman said ina Facebook post.
