I am still looking for a job – says passionate youth corper

February 22, 2021

By Infactng

He was the object of ridicule and jest on social media, the regular material for a meme, even without knowing him , many young Nigerians described him in unpalatable words, insisting his passion to serve his country has been misplaced.

Months have passed and it seems the critics are right. Umar Ibrahim Umar from Gombe who participated in the National Youth Service Corpes programme at the Wailo camp,Ganjuwa local government, Bauchi state is still unemployed.

Recently, a picture of Umar in NYSC uniform on a parade, drenched in sweat but still shouting command to his platoon with so much passion surfaced on Twitter with a Twitter user Mazi  Ibe asking ” Where is this guy now.”

On Monday, Umar identified himself as the man  who has displayed a huge passion for his country and has subsequently been an object for jokes on social media.

“I’m here, happy and thankful,” Umar replied.
While some continued to mock him, Umar however received many compliments from other Nigerians especially when he confirmed that he is still looking for a job.

One Ayodele Olubuse however offered him a job if he could move to Lagos to which Umar replied that he would send a message t explore the option further.
