Bandits negotiator and Islamic schorlar, Sheikh Gumi has accused non-muslim soldiers of the Nigerian Army of causing confusion and responsible for killing muslim bandits.
The Sheikh has been at the forefront of the negotiations with bandits in the troubled regions of the northern part of the country.
In a new video circulating online, the Sheikh was seen addressing some of the bandits while alleging that they were taking revenge on the wrong people.
“What I want you people to understand is, soldiers that are involved in most of the criminalities are not Muslims. You know, soldiers have Muslims and non-Muslims. The non-Muslims are the ones causing confusion just to ignite crisis,” the Sheikh said.
Gumi has stirred some controversies about his ability to locate the bandits in Niger and Zamfara while the entire nigerian military have been unable to do same.
Also, many have wondered why bandits who have killed hundreds of people and destroyed properties were given a welcoming hand while the victims of their atrocities live in camps.
However, the allegations that christian soldiers may be responsible for the killing of bandits some analysts believe may endanger southern or Christian soldiers.
The Sheikh had also suggested that the bandits take revenge from the appropriate targets.
“If you people, in return, retaliate or seek vengeance, attack residents in the city, you may end up in killing youth, children and old men which eventually results in tension in society.
“Why would military men launch attacks on your community and you take your revenge on innocent citizens in the city?
“That is what is denting your image in the society,” the Sheikh added.
