President Muhammadu Buhari has finally yeilded to the voice of Nigerians to relieve the Service Chiefs of their duties after spending a little over five years in office.
This was announced by the Snr Special Adviser on Media to the President, Femi Adesina on his verified Twitter handle.
The new appointments has Major General Leo Iraboh as the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS).
Iraboh was one-time Theater Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole in the northeast.
Major General I. Attahiru is the new Chief of Army Staff ( CDS) replacing Lt. Gen. TY Buratai.
Rear Admiral AZ Gambo is appointed new Chief of Naval Staff ( CDS) , replacing Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas.
Air Vice Marshal Dayo Amao is new Chief of Air Staff (CDS) replacing Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
The outgoing Chiefs tenure has generated huge controversy over their extended tenure which has seen many qualified military officers retired without achieving their full potential.
It is believed, that the new Service Chiefs would bring in the much needed fresh ideas towards the fight against insurgency.
