Billionaire philanthropist and Microsoft founder Bill Gates has received the vaccination for COVID-19.
Gates made the announcement, friday on his verified Twitter handle and declared that he “feels great.”
The Microsoft founder has been at the center of a COVID vaccination controversy following his declaration that the world would not return to normal until everyone is vaccinated against the virus.

This position has pitted him against many in the global South with many conspiracy theories springing up on the motive behind the vaccines.
His wife, and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF)also expressed fears that there will be mounting body bags in Africa due to inadequate healthcare facilities.
The prediction has failed to materialise.
But Gates has committed his fortunes into helping governments in developing countries pull through the devastating pandemic and in finding a vaccine in record time.
Taking the vaccine may be what is needed to diffuse some of the conspiracy theories.
Gates said after the vaccination: “One of the benefits of being 65 is that I’m eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. I got my first dose this week, and I feel great. Thank you to all of the scientists, trial participants, regulators, and frontline healthcare workers who got us to this point.”
