Former Minister and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state, Jubril Martins-Kuye has died.
Family members confirmed that the politician died Sunday morning in his hometown of Ago-Iwoye in Ogun state.
He was born on August 16, 1942 and died at the age of 78.
The late politician was a senator during the short-lived Third Republic and contested in the 1999 gubernatorial elections under the banner of the PDP but lost to Aremo Olusegun Osoba of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
He was later to serve as the Minister of State for Finance under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration till 2003. Also, former President, Goodluck Jonathan appointed him Minister of Commerce and Industry between 2010 and 2011.
