In less than 30 minutes, young Nigerians operating on the micro blogging site, Twitter raised over Five Hundred Thousand Naira
(N500,000), the amount needed to get a new prosthetic leg for citizen Jane Obiene.
Jane had joined the #ENDSARS protests in Abuja, marching long distance
on crutches. A picture of her had surfaced online with many praising her for her commitment and for being an inspiration.

The flood of offers opened when Mohammed Jammal otherwise called
“White Nigerian” tweeted that he would like to give her a job and also promised her the sum of N200, 000 to help her through the “trying times.”
Jammal wrote: “You are an inspiration! While I would like to offer you a job, before we begin that process, I would like to give you N200,
000 to help you out during these trying times. Thank you for coming out and supporting the youths.”

The attention of Chinoso Egemba also known on Twitter as Aproko Doctor was drawn to the story and he set up a donation line to buy a new leg.
In 27 minutes the required sum of N500, 000 was raised by 47 people on twitter.
That was not the end, in less than four hours, Nigerians have raised over N3 million naira was raised over and above what she needed for
the operation.
Aproko Doctor said: “I created the donate link for Jane with a 30 day period in mind for N500, 000. I thought Nigerians were stretched thin
from giving for the ENDSARS protests. Said a little prayer then posted the link, in less than 4 hours, we raised N3.2 million and counting. A
new Nigeria.”
But the good news did not end, another amputee who led the protest
march from National Stadium Surulere Lagos to Bode Thomas Street and back will also get a brand new leg, courtesy of Nigerian youths.
Aproko Doctor announced: “Good afternoon guys, I spoke to @Msobiene
and she agrees the link for her be up for at least 24 hours so we can
get enough money for this guy here. So let us get two good legs, one
for Jane and one for this hero here.”
Nigerians have been full of praise for the youths dubbing the act
extraordinary and saying this is a new Nigeria.
