The Senior Pastor of the Family Worship Centre (FWC), Pastor Sarah Omakwu has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to write his name into history by yielding to the demands of young people who are currently protesting all across the country.
Omakwu was speaking at the FWC headquarters in Abuja today where she took a break from a series she had been teaching to address “some issues of national interest.”
She said: “For over a week, there has been massive protests by youths across the country against police brutality and extra judicial killings. The Protest tagged “#EndSARS” has seen unprecedented turn out of young people on the streets demanding the abolition of a rogue police unit SARS (Special Anti Robbery Squad) and an end to bad governance.”
Quoting from Isaiah 62:6, Omakwu likened Nigeria to Israel in the Old Testament where “justice is nowhere to be found and truth is gone. “ We are a land that is not cleansed. Our prophets are tearing up the prey and taking precious things. They have made many widows, seeing false visions, and prophesying things that never happen. They have divined lies, violated God’s law and profaned holy things,” she said.
While praising the young people she said their demands are reasonable and they are fighting a just cause. “To our young people, your demands are reasonable. You are fighting a good cause, this is your time, this is your hour, you have seized the moment, don’t give up and don’t back out. You have an opportunity to do something no one has ever done. Starting is the hardest part but you have done the most difficult part,” Omakwu said.
She promised more people will join the protests and the young people have her blessings.
“In the last two weeks, our children have come out to fight for us, we congratulate and thank them. Psalm 127:4. We are proud of you. You have given us hope. More will join you in the protests. It is a new day. Your demands are not outrageous, it is our demand and it is scriptural. You have our blessing to continue until we get our victory.”
She also advised President Buhari to yield to the demands of the people so he can leave a good legacy behind. “Shut every negative advice. Give us the honor and pleasure to celebrate you. Live a good name and a legacy behind that will be celebrated forever.”

Today, we are taking a break from the ongoing series on “Holiness” to address some issues of national interest. For over a week, there has been massive protests by youths across the country against police brutality and extra judicial killings. The Protest tagged “#EndSARS” has seen unprecedented turn out of young people on the streets demanding the abolition of a rogue police unit SARS (Special Anti Robbery Squad) and an end to bad governance.
Nigeria is like Israel in the old testament. Isaiah 59: 14-19. In Nigeria, our courts oppose righteousness, justice is no where to be found, and truth is gone. We are a land that is not cleansed. Our prophets are tearing up the prey and taking precious things. They have made many widows, seeing false visions, and prophesying things that never happen. They have divined lies, violated God’s law and profaned holy things.
In the last two weeks, our children have come out to fight for us, we congratulate and thank them. Psalm 127:4. We are proud of you. You have given us hope. More will join you in the protests. It is a new day. Your demands are not outrageous, it is our demand and it is scriptural. You have our blessing to continue until we get our victory.
This era has ended all tribal and religious sentiments that have been perpetrated to divide people in order to remove our power to make demands. Our demands are: End Banditry, end ASUU strike, cut down a significant portion of the National assembly allowances, ensure 100% electronic voting, 1st degree qualification for office of President, stop external borrowing, get our refinery working, end poverty, fix our roads, fix the barracks, fix the unity schools, fix the prisons.
To our young people, your demands are reasonable. You are fighting a good cause, this is your time, this is your hour, you have seized the moment, don’t give up and don’t back out. You have an opportunity to do something no one has ever done. Starting is the hardest part but you have done the most difficult part. You deserve to go to decent schools, graduate in record time, get good jobs, walk freely with your phone and computer around in this country because it is our fatherland.
They will intimidate you but don’t stop. Both Christians and Muslims are united in this protest. You must be unstoppable, unshakable and indivisible. No drugs, partying, indecency or misbehavior. This has never been done so don’t let anything stop your campaign. I implore all youth to join the protest.
Parents fear not, all will be well. We may be a blessed set of parents to see our dream nation. Please do not discourage your children. For security officers, we love and thank you. We are in the fight together. It is for your dignity and better welfare. Do not fight the people who are fighting for you.
To President Buhari, this is your chance to write your name in history as a good leader by yielding to the demand of the people. Shut every negative advice. Give us the honor and pleasure to celebrate you. Leave a good name and a legacy behind that will be celebrated forever.
